BE CAREFUL ! ! ! ! If SF6 Gas encounters this substance

Water is a condition for sulfur hexafluoride equipment to produce toxic substances. If sulfur hexafluoride gas contains more water than specified, when the humidity changes, it may condense on the surface of solid insulation, making the surface wet. At this time, the discharge voltage of the equipment along the surface will be significantly reduced. Under the action of arc and corona, sulfur hexafluoride gas decomposes to produce low-fluorine compound gas. If there are no water molecules, the external conditions will not produce SO2. HF and other harmful substances, thereby avoiding the corrosion of equipment produced by them. Therefore, strict measures are taken to prevent water from entering the equipment.

    (1) Before the start of work, the manufacturer of hazardous chemicals transportation should first measure the relative humidity of the ambient air at the site to ≤80% (that is, the percentage of the water vapor density in the air to the saturated water vapor density at the same temperature), which is a specific indication to limit the water content of the air. If the measurement is unqualified, measures should be taken or dry and sunny weather should be selected for charging.

    (2) In order to replace the leaked SF6 gas in time, the main tip should turn on the ventilator during charging, and strictly abide by the regulations that the SF6 content in the air shall not exceed 1000ppm. After the work starts, the test should be carried out within a certain period of time, and the specific situation should be checked in the middle. When the SF6 gas content increases or exceeds the standard, the components should be checked in detail to find out the cause and remove it.
